Dr. Shock was a fictional character in the 1970s, appearing as a horror TV host. The character was the host for the broadcast of B rated horror movies for Philadelphia’s WPHL Channel 17 that included three different shows -- Scream-In, Mad Theater and Horror Theater. Dr. Shock’s sign off became a mantra for legions of school-age fans in Philadelphia -- "Let There Be Fright!"
