The classic table-top game where a simple sheet of notebook paper, folded in distinct fashion became the game ball in many childhood tournaments in my neighborhood. To make the “football”, take a piece of notebook paper, fold it in half - lengthwise, then in half again. By the corner, begin folding on an angle to meet the edge of the paper, then over & over again until you reach the end. Fold the end into the pocket (made by folding) to secure the ball together. The football is hit back and forth across a table by two opponents. You “flick” the football using your thumb & fore-finger. When your shot positions the football slightly over the edge of the table (on your opponents side) without falling off -- that’s a TOUCHDOWN! Your opponent then positions their fingers in the shape of a goal post and by standing the football up on it’s side (usually on one corner), you attempt to “kick” the ball through the “goal posts” for the extra point. Today they make the footballs from other materials like vinyl but I think the unmistakeable notebook paper is what makes this game such a nostalgic favorite!
