If you’re 40 or above & grew up in the Philadelphia area -- you know Frank’s Fruit Beverages! Frank’s is one of my fondest memories of growing up and I know I am not the only one! And, you must remember the commercial with Patty Smyth (Scandal) -- POPPIN’ WITH FLAVOOOR! Frank’s was founded by Jacob Frank (a Russian immigrant) in 1885. Frank’s headquarters used to be in the Juniata section of the city with the bottling plant at G and Luzerne. Some Frank’s favorites were their Orange and Grape flavors but the Black Cherry Wishniak was my favorite! In 1990, Frank’s was bought by C & C Cola, they kept it going for awhile but it soon faded away from the shelves. It is now made by the local Honickman Group and bottled and distributed from their plant in Baltimore. They don’t make the bottles anymore, just cans and a case will cost you $70! Although, I’ve heard they only make the Black Wishniak, I’ve seen an assorted 6 pk from A Taste of Philly for $20! Look it up and if you’re crazy for a taste of your childhood you may pay the price! Short sleeve retro tee with the Franks's logo on front.
